VIVIENNE WESTWOOD! your my hero

Vivienne Westwood the amazing British fashion that everyone, especially me love. I want to model for her I'm sure I've said before but its true, I just love all of her designs, there so British and Deep and full of many different inspirations. She doesn't just design clothes, she designs almost a way of life!. Like the sex pistols. When she first started out she designed their on stage costumes and overall look. They stood out, with clothes safety pinned together, got save the queen, drugs rock and roll etc... She practically created the whole look for them.

Now I don't want to just sound like a typical model that says they love ALL the clothes they model and will, just to get into the good books of the designers, but I really truthfully do love Vivienne Westwood, everything about her, OK so now I am babbling once again as I do in every post I just cant help but keep typing like I'm doing now!

To the point.... the images you see above are of some of Westwood's Early designs and inspirations, they are typically London and British chic, I adore them!, especially the doc martens with aquatic turquoise mesh wrapped around, they all have such a rebellious quality about all her clothes, nothing is perfect, her seams are often sewn wonky on purpose for the effect of unfinished dunked work, but to do that takes real skill!, i'm just in aw of her talents!
well done Vivienne Westwood well done, to think of how far she has come along since designing for the sex pistols, no such a high end designers label worn on many red carpets

CLOTHES SHOW LIVE!!!

Thats right its December and its time for the clothes show live again at the NEC in Birmingham lasting from 4th-8th December. I go with my school on the 8th which is a Wednesday and also the last day of the show...meaning salesalesalesale!
I get to go on the further reduction day. I will one day after I come back post some of the things I buy...hopefully they will be nice and wonderful Vivienne Westwood sale items e.g. pirate boots, cardigans, earrings, necklaces and lots of other wonderful things.
My Lula subscription for Lula should help me to find an amazing outfit to stand out at the clothes show. Many people at these things get scouted for modelling and if you regularly read this blog I want to model! Maybe if I get scouted I need to dress correctly and be 'original'. My plan is to just be myself and completely dress how I would always dress I want to impress but not too much that its looks like i have tried to hard...because that would be silly and then i would not get scouted. :( sad face.....wish me luck for Wednesday

ELLE's adapted version of fashion Icons in music top 5

ELLE have recently on their website named the 25 most influential Fashion Icons in music. I've narrowed down my top 5 and bare in mind this is my own personal opinion.

1) the MOST influential fashion icon is music is... Grace Jones!!.
She is Jamaican born and was Andy Warhol's muse and was sometimes naked like in this cutaway dress, to sky high shoulder pads
Gender bending with her Flat top short hair and her high high cheek bones.

2) Is Madonna in the 80's. She has had many many many different styles over these years. I believe she was the one to wear crazy hair and thrift store chic in "desperately seeking Susan".
And then to the conical Jean Paul Gaultier Gold bra. She has defiantly had a big impact on music fashion over the decades.
3) Courtney Love is 3rd in my top 5 list. She earned this place with her style during the 90's, this included ripped stockings, smudged make up and torn baby doll dresses. Her signature style smeared red lipstick is credible style points to me
3) Diana Ross is 3rd with her amazing figure and beautiful clothes. I love this picture above because of the diamanté all in one suit. This does make her a style icon but not one of the best in my opinion.

5) finally beyonce is 5th with her Fashion style. I dont think that her style deserves top though because all she wears is designer and thats great but there is nothing amazing and wonderful.

Well that concludes the amazing wonderful top 5 Fashion icons by Ruby Dickson

Miu Miu fall/winter collection 2010

>>On the website there is a sneaky preview of miu miu's new collection for fall/winter. And it is awesome!. Its a mixture of fur skirts and bejewelled dresses. Its wonderful, I especially like the fur mittens and the high, long ponytails everything is girly but not too much. Its still very edgy and cool. The models eyes are purple and orange, which is still quite summery. This collection isnt as a good as the miu miu cat print in spring because it doent have such a wow fresh factor. It felt like the cat print in spring has never been done before ( probably has). Nevertheless its a decent collection worth a Ruby Dickson blog post :)

magma?, magma no not volcanoes

>> I have recently visited a little shop in Manchester city centre called Magma. It sells all the magazines and books you could ever need. I m talking I-D, LOVE, Vogue Italia, POP and many many more!!... I'm going back there on Friday with all my friends. (its on facebook guys) . Well we are all going in mass numbers. Tanita Allinson who's blog scream Kinder organised it after we took a trip there first our selves.

Crazy Psycho prints: trend Report

>>Wear your feeling on your own sleeves with these crazy ass prints, I'm talking naked women and Optical illusions. Miu Miu and
Jason Wu. Just beautiful.
I really like the pointy and puffy sleeves and collar on the Miu Miu Shirt. Dont you think this pinis stunning also, even though its a naked women and its nude pink.

Crochet, crochet, Chanel

Crochet is big this season, I'm loving The Chanel spring collection as you can see above. Now there is a way to wear crochet and..Cate Blanchett( blanket!) is NOT wearing it correctly It literally looks like she has an old grandma blanket wrapped round her, like a toga with the sleeve cut off .

Rastafarian and reggae

Another new trend report, this time from Blumarine they have gone all out Jamaica with these thick knit jumpers and plaited handle bags. I am in favour of these designs. I myself am part Jamaican, on my fathers side, in fact I'm more Jamaican than English!. The ripped jeans with the colours of the flag poking through are very cool. they are so Holiday and so Beach friendly, I would definitely wear them. They are a bit of a statement especially with the Jumper.

That's Right we're talking travel!

Everything travel inspired here. This time I'm going high street, which is the place a lot of the time where I shop!. As you are probably well aware its the festival time of year and I for one love it. I love the T4 presenter Jameela Jamil s' style its very vintage but fresh and modern. Although to me she shows a lot of leg, a lot of the time. She is very indie rocker and a little bit girlie.

>> Everything this year is Indian inspired and pretty pretty, Accessorize do this style well. They have very bright coloured digital printed Navajo styles. The beading and embroidered bags and bangles are awesome, I also love the paisley and little animals on the bangles too. They are very Jameela I think, well I think she would suit them for a festival chic style :)

feSTIVAL CHIC

All the summer esentials YOU need To BUy!!....

Hunter wellies are a must have for the cold rainy days and for the Glastonbury mud. get yours for £125 on hunterboot.com !.

Underwear as ...outerwear??

Jasmine Di Milo, I love the corset teamed with ditsy floral prints. The little suede ankle boots are a perfect match.
Fendi, Adopting the jean Paul Gaultier and D&G lingerie style but with a bit more coverage. OI love these long pastel baby blue trousers, they are to die for!. The little chiffon jacket reminds me of night wear But nevertheless wonderful. Just take a look at those mega platforms.
Issac Mizrahi, This feels outfit has a bit more...pop. I love the swirling asymmetric pale pink rose on the hip and the zip up front corset. The shoes are cute too they remind of a tuxedo for the feet stylish and never out of fashion. They lace up too!

Dolce and Gabbana, Now this is what I'm talking about the Kings of lingerie in my eyes. Little ankle socks with a lace skirt and black lace top...only D&G can pull this off!. Just looks so feminine and fabulous.
Antonio Berardi, A newcomer to the whole underwear outerwear thing. But still it looks great, This outfit is all about the corset under that stunning blazer. I mean look at the detail on the front. Its moulded perfectly to the body and loos amazing, I just am speechless....metaphorically speaking!.

karl largerfeld and the diet coke moment. . .

hahaha. Karl lagerfeld on diet coke..that's rich, I want one so bad even though it is 3 1/2 euros!.There such a collectors item and from What Ive heard only available in paris..uuuhh..:( what a shame.

marni fall 2010 collection

This is the Marni fall collection ready to wear. Don't you think its very seventies with all those jazzy prints going on. Like the upholstery and the random knee socks. I love the wacky but sensible look going on here. Its just so seventies like this. All the fur fronted vests and. flare shorts st the knees its great.

Did somebody say...VIVIENNE WESTWOOD!!

I just love this women she is a goddess and now a dame!!!. I love everything about her she is just so great!!.

Im in the mood for some baby blue...baby!

This bag is fendi isnt it gorge?..yes

Don't you just love baby the powdery beautifulness of it on a soft denim canvas aka a denim t-shirt. I love it!. Marilyn Monroe features on the pics courtosey of style.com . Even on shoes it looks great, teamed with maybe some gold it will be great
